Super Heroes in Sedona...

From January 28, 2013

Super Heroes are real!  I was at the top of Hangover Trail in Sedona Arizona, with a cactus quill stuck deeply in my foot.  I cried out for help and WOOOSH!!! There he was, Pablo Snazzy, the Blue Gloved Wonder Boy. Problem was, he couldn't stop, crashed into a rock and fell in a bunch of cactus too!

Luckily he had a side kick to pull him out of the cactus.  Bumble Bee, who awkwardly descends drops in multiple bounds...

Mary was refusing to slow down despite riding with an extra human aboard her new Trek Remedy.  At nearly 6 months pregnant I stand in awe of my wife's strength inside and out!  I'm also stoked that our little girl will have been feeling her mothers flow since before she was born.

Dinka Dog was stoked to be out of the Colorado cold, caring nothing about the pipes that were freezing back home...

  1. What happens if your wife falls off her bike? Will you still be admiring her and loving that your unborn child is "feeling her flow".

    Pathetic.

  2. Anonymous: I actually thought the same thing at first when seeing the pictures. However in working hard not to judge -I had to reflect. You see, I know Mary and know what she has ridden without much effort: i.e. cleaning the Horsethief Drop In. I myself had to back up and think of how easy that little step she was hucking is in her world. The girl can ride a fucking bike! What I also know is that Mary is one of the sweetest, caring people(come on, she takes care of Landon) I have ever met and I know as a fellow mother that she would not put her child in danger. - If you knew her you would know this too.

  3. Hey Anonymous number 1... way to judge. People take risks every day. She could slip on the ice just going to mailbox. It is their child and their life. So back off.

  5. hey anonymous 1 - she was on an easy non techy trail, and her skill is probably better much than yours. you should know the whole story before you spew your unwarranted righteous indignation. it just makes you sound like a dumb ass.

  6. Actually, most doctors will tell you that exercising is good for the baby, and that if it is something you do normally that your body is used to it and can handle it. I know pregnant women who run all through their pregnancies to, it isn't any more dangerous...seriously know your facts and think before you type.

  8. Mary, you are a super hero without a cape. Really proud of you for still doing what you love. PS rude people are cowards that hide behind anonymity...shame on them.

  9. I was still commuting to my prenatal yoga class on my bike at 8 months pregnant, (in the snow)...we're both healthier for it.
