It was a beautiful day on the Uncompahgre Plateau. The hawks were soaring, flowers blooming, the creeks were babbling, Dinka was rolling in the dirt...
It was just "one of those days" perfect in every way. We had found a perfect climb to get us to the upper most portion of the plateau. Not a gut buster, but slightly ascending alpine single track.
Dinka and I saw this big guy, just before he cleared a path through the woods and disappeared.
But all good things must come to an end. Not long after this shot Geo hit a rock.
This rock...
Slightly hidden by grass...
He could have hit the really BIG rock further down the trail, but....
Instead he clipped the smaller one, took flight, and landed in the green grass, in this perfect meadow...
And when he got up, he needed a sling....
