Tuesday, Greg and I took our dogs on a four hour bike ride under bluebird sky's. We enjoyed the late October, errrr, I mean late December weather wearing only long sleeves and light jackets.
The dogs wore nothing but fur and dog smiles on their faces. It was hard to go fast enough, they were nearly bored with our pace, enjoying wrestle sessions when the humans stopped for breaks.
As the day began to wind down, the dry grass started turning gold in the last of the sun's rays. We watched the light creep up the Grand Mesa as we plunged down toward town. It was a great day. That was Tuesday....
I awoke Wednesday morning to our "critters" still snuggled in bed. At 14 Gus is all about sleeping in, but Ms. Dinka Jane is normally ready to romp. It seemed as if she had been watching the weather channel and actually believed their lies. 90% chance of snow????
I was having none of it!!! The skys's hadn't dumped yet so we were off again on another day of fun.
That was Wednesday...
100% chance of snow!!! Thats what that weather channel was saying for Thursday. Would it? Could it? C-mon???? Could it really be Winter?
Well I guess Winter finally caught up to us here in the Grand Valley. But we weren't about to let that stop all the outdoor fun. Since I don't ski, well I just keep on riding.
Mary hiked along with us, keeping up just fine, as my snow pace is pretty close to walking pace. Near the top of PetEkes, Dinka and I headed for Pucker Up while Gus and Mary walked back down. Airing out the gaps on Pucker Up is fun in the snow, the off camber rocky sections...not so much.
And THAT was Thursday!!!
